What I'm Doing Now

This is a /now page. It tells you what I'm focused on at this point in my life.
Research — At MIT Senseable City Lab Rio, working on morphometrics of informal urban form: describing favela fabric from terrain models and building footprints so that wind and sunlight simulations have something defensible to run on.
Building — perception-pipeline (v0.1 shipped in June: YOLO + ByteTrack baseline, MIT-licensed), consolidating four years of one-off perception code into one modular stack. Also building agent-harness — typed tools, readable traces, and regression evals for agentic systems.
Learning — Following the ETH Zurich Robot Learning course by Oier Mees.
Training — Upper/lower split strength training and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Timeline
2026
June — Shipped perception-pipeline v0.1 (YOLO + ByteTrack baseline, MIT-licensed).
April — Started following ETH Zurich's Robot Learning course (Oier Mees).
2025
January — Joined MIT Senseable City Lab in Rio de Janeiro as a research fellow, there from the first week of the Rio branch. Working on morphometrics of informal urban form.
2024
September — Defended Master's thesis at EPFL: Urban Tree Morphology and Canopy Density Estimation from Aerial LiDAR, conducted with Senseable City Lab, MIT and the AMS Institute.
March — Joined Roboat (MIT spinoff) as its first intern, on computer vision and MLOps for autonomous canal vessels in Amsterdam.
2023
October — Started visiting research at IRI (CSIC-UPC), Barcelona, on event cameras for high-speed drone state estimation.
June — Completed research assistantship at EPFL VITA Lab, building an open-source ROS autonomy stack for mobile robot navigation.
2022
September — Started as Teaching Assistant at EPFL for General Physics and Mobile Robotics.
June — Joined VITA Lab at EPFL as Research Assistant under Dr. Alexandre Alahi.
2021
September — Started MSc in Robotics at EPFL.
June — Completed exchange year at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.
